Wide rears, whitewalls, belts and brakes. The wear items a cruiser goes through, done right and torqued to spec.
Cruiser tires run wider, heavier and often with tubes or whitewalls, and the rear usually means pulling the belt off the pulley. We mount and balance, set the belt tension to the factory figure, and check the pulley and belt for the cracks and missing teeth that end a ride on the shoulder of I-35E.
Brakes on a bagger carry a lot of bike. Pads, rotors, fluid and a bleed are routine; braided lines and upgraded calipers are a common step for bikes that tour two-up or pull a trailer. Drive belts are inspected at every service and replaced before they fail, which on a Harley-Davidson touring model usually means the swingarm comes out.
Every wheel goes back on with the axle, pinch bolts and caliper torqued and marked, and the bike is road tested before it leaves.
