Cruiser Suspension, Lowering Kits & Bagger Fitment

A cruiser should fit the rider and hold the road. Shocks, forks, lowering and bars, set up for how and where you ride.

Stock cruiser suspension is built to a price and a seat height, not to a rider. Upgraded rear shocks and a fork cartridge or spring kit are the biggest comfort and control change a bagger or Softail can get, and they are set for your weight, your passenger and the luggage you actually carry. Lowering kits and air ride are fitted with the clearance and the travel checked so the bike still works over a Dallas expansion joint.

Fitment is the rest of the picture: handlebar swaps with the cables, lines and wiring extended properly, seat and peg changes, and a sag and preload setup so the bike sits where it should with you on it. Bikes with a stretched rear or custom bags get the extra attention on the lift that they need.

Fork seals, bushings and oil are done here too, and the front end goes back together with the axle, pinch bolts and triple clamps torqued to spec.

Questions

Suspension, Lowering & Bagger Fitment FAQ

Will lowering my bike hurt the ride?

It can if the travel disappears with the height. A quality lowering shock or a properly set air ride keeps usable travel; a cheap lowering block does not. We will tell you which is which.

Can you swap my bars to apes?

Yes. The job is the cables, lines and wiring as much as the bars, and we extend or replace them so the throttle, clutch, brakes and switches work the way they did.
